David Kim, better known by his stage name Dabit, is a South Korean-American idol turned solo singer and song writer under KoffeeDream Management (KDM). He was part of the idol group named 24K. He left and debuted as a soloist on his birthday (December 5, 2013) and released his first digital single called “Whoo Whoo Whoo” and “When the Wind Blows”, both written and composed by him.
Dabit had his first ever showcase in The Philippines last September 10, 5pm, at Staple and Perk Bakery ECOPLAZA BLDG, 2306 Pasong Tamo EXT. Makati City. The event was free and there was a CD signing after.
The event was sponsored by Staple and Perk Bakery and HKP and presented by Koffee Dream Management.
I was able to attend the said event under Philippine Kpop Convention, Inc. (PKCI).
I was impressed and amazed with Dalbit’s soothing voice. He was also jolly and very outgoing.
We had a chance to interview him. He told us about his musical inspirations. We also made him eat a “Balut” (Balut is Filipino street food made by hard-boiling a fertilized and incubated duck egg.) when he lost in a game of “Pinoy Henyo”.
We got to know some facts about him. His favorite food is Ramen. His fanclub name is Dalbit which means moonlight. And his logo is a rabbit.
His song “Mong” is about moving on after a break up. While “The Rain Song” is about meeting someone during a rainy day.
At the showcase, he sang “Mong”, The Rain Song, A lonely Christmas Tree, On the wings of love, Yeng Constantino’s “Ikaw”, RO.T’s “I’m in love”, Jason Mraz “I’m Yours”, and his first single “Whoo whoo whoo”.
Before the end of the event, there was an album signing. They also picked two lovely ladies who had the chance to eat dinner with him.
And he promised to come back to the Philippines.
I also took some videos during the event:
