Hello guys! Especially those Kpop fans that are from my country, Philippines!!
I know a lot of you are purchasing merchandises online. Buying things online is easy especially if the seller is from your country. But what if the seller is from another country?
Ebay has a lot of foreign sellers. Most of them use PayPal on their online transactions. PayPal is easy to get if you have a credit or debit card.
But now, I will share some tips on how to get your packages/parcel from the post office customs in the Philippines.
If you buy something online from another country, you have to pay the shipping fee (except if it was indicated free). Paying the shipping fee doesn’t mean that you won’t pay anything anymore. Once the parcel arrives in your country, you have to pay the tax for it.
Now let’s begin this tutorial.
When your parcel arrives in the Philippines, the post office will send you a notice:
This notice will be sent three times to you for a month until you picked your parcel up. If you didn’t pick it up, the post office will send your parcel back to the seller or just dispose it.
You have to bring this notice to the post office so you can pick up your parcel. This notice is not really a must have. If you lose it, you can still get your parcel as long as you know your parcel’s tracking number.
The Philippines post office is open from Monday to Friday at 8am to 5pm. Customs office is usually located beside or inside the post office of your district. Unlike the post office, customs have lunch break. So be alert when going there at 12pm. They usually have lunch break from 12pm to 1pm.
All parcels are subjected to one hundred pesos (Php100) service fee.
If you are going to check the notice, it said there “Please bring invoice or PayPal”
I advice you “NOT TO DO THAT”
As far as I know, all items which are not ELECTRONICS are NOT subjected to TAX. But once you showed how much your items are, you will be subjected to pay an expensive TAX rate. Bulky packages, even if they don’t have electronics, are subjected to tax too but it’s not so expensive. But once you showed the real price of your items, you will cry from regret 🙂
All sellers indicate what items are sent in their post office. They usually put “gifts” so you won’t be subjected to pay TAXES. So remember to tell the post office about the “gift”. Sellers also write down the price of the items inside the box. Sellers usually put a low price to help us get our items without taxes.
When getting your parcel, remember to bring a valid ID. Government ID is better. I usually use only one government ID when getting my parcels. But if you are a student, one student ID and another ID is needed. I’m not sure about the other post office, but usually, two ID’s are needed. If you are not able to get your parcel yourself, you can ask another to get it for you. But you have to give them an authorization letter. You also have to give them two valid ID’s and the one picking it should also bring their own IDs.
EMS cases are different. EMS from local post office is delivered to the parcel’s address. You should also pay fifty pesos (Php50) service change. Other EMS which are from private companies have different rate. They usually ask for five hundred pesos (Php500) service charge.

Hi, question lang po. I ordered a jacket/hoodie from UK last July 11. Until now wala pa rin sya. I have no idea too if nasa vicinity na sya ng Philippines. I assume yes, kasi almost 1 month na eh. I am from Quezon City area. I haven’t received any form if my parcel is already on the post office. May binigay lang sakin yung online shop na pinagbilhan ko ng Order # and email na nadispatched na daw yung item. So sa tingin nyo po, paano ko po kaya malalaman if my item is already in the post office if I haven’t received any forms from PostPhils saying na may item is already with them? Less than 3k ko po nabili yung item kasama na yung shipping fee. But I am willing to pay for tax kung meron man, as long as makuha ko lang ng maayos at buo yung order ko. 😥 Hoping na masagot nyo po yung query ko. Salamat po!

I ordered a printed photo from Nat Geo and chose Standard Shipping. They shipped the parcel through APC Postal Logistics. The shipment departed New Jersey, USA 1 June 2018 and arrived at Manila Terminal on 11 June 2018. As of today, 6 July 2018, I have yet to receive any notice from the Post Office. I already went to the Makati Post Office to check on my parcel but they need the EMS tracking number. I only have the APC Postal tracking number provided by Nat Geo. I asked the Post Office if they can just track my shipment using my name and delivery address, they said no. I’m a bit worried now because customs dispose undelivered/unclaimed items after 30 days. Customs processing is taking too long, it’s ridiculous. It’s just one photo and everything was declared including the exact value of the item (USD 120.00). I emailed Nat Geo about this problem and requested for the complete info of the local courier and the EMS tracking number. Still waiting for their response; their customer service is unexpectedly slow. Haaay, hassle.

Better go there and check it out. Bring your resibo na din. As long as hindi aabot un item mo na 10K, wala pang tax yan. Mostly handling fee lang.

Hello and Good day, bale yung parcel ko po inorder po nung 06 Feb 2018 then dumating pu sya dto sa Philippines nung 26 Feb 2018, since then ndi napo nagbago yung “Item presented to customs” pero everyday chinecheck ko sya and updated nmn everyday kaso 1 month n pu sya dun. Nagemail ako s Philpost and sabi nila if you reside in manila personal mo sya pipickupin pero tiga malolos pu ako and sabi sa email if you don’t reside in manila the item will be delivered to your local post office. Anu pu ba gagawin ko kase printer pu yung item. Normal pu ba na ganito katagal? And if kailangan ko sya kunin sa philpost sa pasay anu pu pwede kong gawin para maging maayos yung pagkuha ko ng parcel? Wala pa din po ako narereceive na notice. I hope for your kind reply po.

No idea if Manila PhilPost is the official drop off point though.
If not, sa location mo dapat napadala depende sa address.

Mas mainam kung pick-up in mo na lang. IF YOU ARE ALLOWED THIS OPTION. Ask them.
Bring your trackiing number. The guard will direct you to their staff to check sa website. But make sure ikaw mismo na-track mo na ang item bago pumunta. Normally, your item will be Returned from Customs. Then, Enroute to Delivery office sa PhilPost website. Don’t be confused. Customs and Delivery office are just inside one building. Ganito ginawa ko though sa Manila lang ako. Come early. Just my cent.

Hi! I’m planning on ordering a photobook and an album from Ktown4u using EMS as the shipping method. I heard about the OMB clearance requirement recently and nag-aalala lang ako since I’m from Visayas, and so far, I’ve only ever heard of people getting their clearances from the OMB office in the NCR. A friend did suggest that asking the seller to declare the items in the package as “books” instead might work as a loophole for the OMB issue. Natry niyo na po bang gawin yun, specifically with Ktown4u? Pano po kaya ipapachange yung declaration? If not, ano po maisusuggest niyo na easiest way to order albums from Ktown4u for someone like me na nasa province pa and can’t risk having to deal with customs and OMB all the way at the capital? Because of the OMB, hindi na ko umuorder ng albums directly sa Korea. I just buy it from online stores here. Sorry kasi masyadong hassle sa schedule ko un OMB kaya I don’t know anything about it.

If under 10k including the shipping fee, free of tax po sya. Pero if more than 10k including the shipping fee, then taxable sya.

About po sa tax ng package, what if gift po siya sa’kin at hindi ko alam ang laman? Pwede ko ba sabihin na hindi ko alam laman so hindi ko alam value ng package?

Hi cathylicious25. The two items I bought from eBay arrived smoothly. The PhilPost Manila mini van delivered them to our house. The man who handed me the parcel insinuated that if I would pick the item at the post office I will pay P100.00. He did not ask for anything And of course, sensing he is waiting for something I will give them. It is as always, as a show of gratitude, been my way to give to anyone who delivers something for the effort, even to a water boy. But not P100.00. No tax, by the way.
I was a bit confused now about PhilPost’s SOP in delivering parcels at the door. I didn’t received a notice for pick-up at the post office. I was surprised when they arrived.
– Is it about the courier and the relationship between local and foreign posts? e-Express of Hongkong Post is highly recommended for its fast shipment. Within three 3 days, the items are on my hands. I was fortunate to find a seller who actively assisted me all the way. PhilPost and Hongkong Post seems to work closely and deliver tracking efficiently – when one pays more fr shipping?
– is it because of the weight of the parcel? My items weigh only about 100 grams. I am pretty sure they checked my parcel as it is not heavily taped though.
Just last week, I was asked to pick up CD. I got to know, only at the post office when the customs officer showed the box, the content was a used MS Windows installer came from a brother in law in the US. It is necessary for the old laptop he gave his mother. They wanted it to update without a problem because it is licensed to him. Anyway, there was a bit of concern because the customs were informed by Optical Media Board about its regulating the importation, exportation, transport/distribution of optical equipment and materials whether it has content or none. In short, in order to avoid piracy. So, one needs to produce a permit from the OMB. The custom officer will sow you copies of the OMB circular. The will even let you capture them.
The parcel was documented. I was given a warning. Unless a permit is produced, any OMB-related parcel will not be released in the future. (But not for one recipient whose parcel that is as big as two shoe boxes combined, it was still on hold when I left. It contains OMB regulated items which has no permit as well. So, not all are treated the same.) I paid the standard fee of P112.00, signed a log book and received the box/parcel. Lesson learned: Be familiar with local rules and follow them. Good thing, there is a warning.
Sorry for the long story. Having said all these, I am still wanting to know our PhilPost’s SOP when to pick-up a parcel and when they ought to deliver them to our door step. What are the criteria for each scenarios?
From the cashier’s mouth, she said that a parcel is taxed when it is above P10K. Please correct me if I am wrong about this. From some sources, they say it is based on the Philippine Customs Phil. Tariff Reduction Schedule which is interesting to look into and be informed.

Accdg to the PHLPost website as of 10/9/17, Status: “Enroute to delivery office” My question is, does the parcel be delivered directly to my fiance’s home address -or- does he has to pick up the parcel at the local post office? It’s a surprise gift for him and I don’t wanna tell him that I sent him a gift yet. He’s from Bataan.

I started opening an online kpop shop and may mga umorder ng albums sakin ng exo for their CB and it costed me sa supplier for around $500~ and I tracked it and it is said that for customs examination na. Hi Maam, may parcel po ako galing footlocker composed of 1 shoes ($84.99) 2 t-shirt ($29.99) saka 1 t-shirt ($17.99) total amount $162.96 + shipping $45.63 = $208.59. Nabasa ko pa sa tarrif rates 15% tax ang shoes at t-shirt. Saan po kukuha ng 15% tax? Sa amount ng items or including shipping costs?

I advise you to call your local post office. I also had an item from the Netherlands delivered, it arrived a week after, but they didn’t send me the notice until 3 weeks after.

hi, me problema po ba ngaun sa customs? more than 2 weeks na kasi ang parcel (EMS) wherein normally 2-3 days lang ang checking/inspections nila. i heard naka strike daw ang mga staff ng BOC is that true po ba? now since different agency naman sila, di ba dapat gumawa na action ang post office ukol dito? or if naka strike, kumuha naman sana ang BOC ng mga part timers para gumawa ng mga tranahong naiwan…di naman fair yung madamay mga parcel namin sa mga problema nila di ba?

Hello po. Ang ginawa ko lang po sa two past orders ko sa CDJapan (Registered SAL), ako na lang po pumunta sa post office without the notice (kasi *never* dumating yung notice sa mga inorder ko) after 10 days ng dispatch and nandun naman sila (may tracking number naman so natitingnan ko sa logbook nila). Ngayon po nagorder po ako ng book at DVD worth 70$, shinip na raw po ng Dec. 28 pero sabi sa tracking dinispatch Jan. 6. Ilang beses na po ako pumunta sa post office namin, hanggang ngayon wala pa rin daw po yung package. Di po kaya sa ibang post office or sa customs sa Pasay siya napunta? Posible po ba yun kasi more than 50$ yung package? Thank you.

Umorder ako sa gmarket last feb ng 2 facial wash at 2 thermal pants. dumating na yung package ng March 1 dito sa Pinas. 5 days later, Wala pa din ako narereceive na notice or delivery sa bahay. Tinawagan ko yung EMS, sabi andun na daw, sa may Pasay (Main branch ata nila). Nagtanung ako ng mga kailangan dalhin para makuha yung package, pinapadala niya ako ng valid IDs, tracking number, at invoice. Nagtanung na din ako kung may kailangan ba ako bayaran para maprepare ko na. Sabi niya lang sakin iinspect pa lang kc ng customs yung package ko pagkarequest kong kunin siya, so depende daw dun kahit na sinabi ko na din yung about dun sa bagong policy na P10k and below na packages free from duty and tax fees.
Kakabasa ko lang ng post niyo, do you think I should bring an invoice?? Handling fee lang po kaya yung babayaran ko??? Pls advise. Thanks

Dalhin nyo na din po un invoice just in case. Pero if hindi naman po hinanap sa inyo, then no need to show it. Pero remember po na if sisingilin kayo, you have to ask them if bakit. Kasi 10k and above na lang po un pinapatawan ng tax ngaun.

Un notice card po dadalhin sa bahay nyo. If after a month wala pa kayong notice card, then puntahan nyo na po sa post office if may tracking number kayo.

Pero last week, may inaasahan ako na package send via registered mail from singapor na nakalagay “for customs examination”. naguluhan lang ako kasi ang alam ko normally EMS lang yung may ganito pati pala registered mail? kapag ganun ba puntahan ko sa pasay? or hintayin ko sa post office namin? kasi ang alam ko kapag registered mail sa post office dapat. pero ngayon ko lang naencounter na for custom examination yung package ko na registered mail. I have a package po from Israel and that was sent last October 2016. CD’s (song) at isang keychain na bible and souvenir items lang po. The package weight is less than 250 grams lang po and until now wala pa ako na re receive na notice card from Pasig Post Office. Trice na rin po nag follow up ang post office sa Israel sa Philippine post office pero sabi nila wala daw po reply ang Phil. post office sa rekalamo nila kung bakit hindi ko pa natatanggap yong package ko.

Bataan pa po kasi ako e and madalang po kami pumunta ng Manila. By the way, less than $30 po ‘yong amount n’ong album.
Medyo naguguluhan po kasi ako e. Based on what I have understood po, EMS lang ang binibigyan ng tax ng customs. Saka kapag EMS, kailangan sa customs mo talaga kukuhanin and hindi nila idedeliver sa mailing address na binigay mo.

Almost 4 months na wala pa din yung package ko. Nakalagay lang sa tracking info ng USPS “Attempted Delivery – Item forwarded / redirected” tapos pag sa PhilPost nman “Enroute to delivery office” yung status. Wala ako na receive na notice from post office. Naibalik na ba sa shipper yun? T_T

USPS po has their own delivery system. Try to check their website po and track your parcel there. You can also call their office.

I ordered some items from Japan, shipped October 18 through SAL (so no tracking). It’s over a month and I haven’t received a notice from Makati Central PO yet (could be because we were in the middle of a move to Pasig two weeks ago?). The first time I used SAL, I got a notice in 3 weeks. Should I be worried and go there to follow up my package? If so, will they entertain me even without a tracking number?

Ma’am ask ko lang kasi ung sa akin Air Mail pero finorward pa rin sa Manila Central Post Office. Nagbayad naman ako ng shipping fee para madeliver sa akin. Pero nung tumawag ako sa EMS/Air Mail, for pick up daw at finorward na nga sa Manila Central Post Office. Ng tumawag ako dun sa post office, wild goose chase na. Di alam kung kanino at sino kakausap sa akin. Tawagan ko daw yung ganitong phone number and so on.. Hindi ba talaga idedeliver yun? Nung Nov 15 pa dumating at dumaan na ng customs. Tapos enroute sa delivery office nung 17. Hanggang ngaun walang notice or delivery.

hello, ask ko lang if kailangan talaga na i-pick up yung package sa post office? nag order na kasi ako sa yesasia before ($100 worth yung item) pero diretso naman sa bahay yung package (through lbc ang padala sa pagkakatanda ko free ship din kasi from yesasia). then nag order ulit ako ng nendoroid sa amazon worth $100 din pero dumaan sa customs (tax worth 1600 ang binayaran namin and no notif na nasa post office and kailangan i-pick-up yung package). this month nag order ako ng tamagotchi from a japanese seller, itatax ba nila yung item na worth $40? and mga gaano katagal sa customs yung item? need pa rin ba i-pick-u?p kapag ganun thru registered air mail para yung shipment ng item na binili ko. advance thanks! 🙂

If EMS po yan, daretso sa bahay nyo. If the price is not more than 10k, wala pong tax, Php112 lang po for the handling fee.

Hi, first ko pong tumanggap ng parcel galing sa ibang country. It’s from shein.com po napaship ito noong October 6 tas tinrack ko yung parcel at last update ay “2016-10-13 11:44 PHILIPPINES, Enroute to delivery office” at may nakalagay na “in transit”. Ano po ba meaning nun? At lahat po ba na parcel na galing sa ibang country ay sa post office makukuha? hindi deliver sa bahay? Pag airmail po is dinideliver sa bahay. If wala pa din po after 3 weeks to 1 month mula nun pinadala, then go to the post office na po with the tracking number.

I recently ordered stuff from cdjapan, to be shipped in Quezon City, which consist of 1 calendar and 2 ps vita games(both second hand), it all sums up to $82 (including the EMS shipping fee). Right now its status is “Item for Customs examination”. Just want to ask, are the chances of it getting taxed high? And how long does it usually take items to be in “examination” in the customs office?

Aren’t all items purchase online are on FOB because it is the buyer who pays the shipping?

It is because there is still corruption in Phil Post and the general public does not know of this change so they are at the mercy of the Post office,this is typical here because they do not post notices about changes to postal or government regulation changes so you will not know,even Ebay still tries to charge this fee on shipments from the US.
In the article above you say the Post office sends you a pick up order,That must be in Metro Manila because here on Negro Oriental they do not send a notice and never have because they can not afford it,they can not even afford gasoline for their Motorcycle for deliveries,I have had regular first class mail lay around in the Dumaguete Post office for 30 days after they receive it and that is not right for any mail especially first class mail.
As of today 11/22/2016 I have been waiting 11 weeks for a small package mailed from Canada to me here and the shipping label says 6 to 8 weeks delivery and I am sure it is in Dumaguete maybe in customs or someone there has stolen it,I don’t know because the Dumaguete Post office does not answer their phone all the time so I wonder why they need a Phone??

As I know, planners are considered stationary. So mostly you won’t be charge. Just don’t show any receipts and remember to tell them that it is a gift.

Should I wait for the notice card or should I call the pasay office and ask if they have my package with just the tracking number? As long as the package is not yet over 45 days, you shouldn’t worry too much. You can wait for the notice card or if you didn’t receive it yet after 30 days, you can go to the post office to get it.

Hello! I have a package that was delivered here in PH about a month ago but I have not received even a single letter/notice from the post office. I tracked my package using the PHLPost official website and it says that my package was “en route to deivery” it has been a month since but I still don’t have a notice and I don’t know what to do. I tried asking PHLPostOfficial’s twitter for help but they just gave a number that doesn’t even answer no matter how many times I called. Help please? 😦

If it’s already a month now, you can go to the post office and give them your tracking number. Your package is already at the local post office.

1st time po aq nagorder sa Aliexpress… sabi nyo po na wag ddlhn ang invoice or proof of payment such as paypal, paano po ggwin ko? Do I need to tell the seller form aliexpress that he must mark the package as gift? Or they usually/automatically marked them as a GIFT item?

As I know po, most sellers put GIFT on the package. Pero if hindi naman po mamahalin un item nyo, then just bring the invoice.

Umm 1 month na po nakakalipas so you better go to the post office na po and give them your tracking number. Mostly nasa post office na po un package nyo.

Hi Ms. Cathy, this is my first time ordering online and receiving a package outside the country. My question is chinarge akonng delivery man P112 per package. I received 4 small packages by the way (the size on an airmail envelope). So I paid a total of P448. Is it just and right na per package ang singil and not per delivery? EMS means mas mabilis sa normal shipping ang dating ng items mo. Around 2 to 3 days lng. And yes, each package na matatanggap mo is Php112.

Ask ko lang.. I’m about to buy a wedding gown in China thru China Post Air Mail worth $40 pero they will send it as gift to me and declare it as $20 lang.. Tingin mo magkaproblem ako with the taxes? Gown’s weight is 1kg lang nman. 🙂
And btw, i’m planning to make it as business din kasi soon after my wedding. What do you think ang mgiging peoblem ko if in case 10 items na ang ipapadeliver ko dito? and what would be your suggestions para iwas laki ng duties and taxes ako?

It depends kasi sa titingin ng package mo eh. But mostly, magkakatax sya if bulk orders. The best way is just ask the seller na bigyan ka ng resibo then show it to the post office para dun sila magbabatay ng tax mo. #Changeiscoming na naman so I guess hindi na mga buwaya ang mga tiga customs.

Yung rate is still subject for assessment ng customs officer nila. Ang labo nga dito sa Luzon eh, they’re charging us ridiculously, lalo na sa small packets which is free lang. Yesterday lang nakatanggap ako ng call from them re: my item na worth $5 and they’re asking me to pay P112.
Before ako bumalik sa family ko dito sa Manila, naka base ako sa Iligan and regardless how much yung value ng item mo, chacharge ka lang nila ng either 50 or 100php kahit electronics kaya suki na ako dun sa Post office dun eh. Free delivery sa doorstep mo yung small packet kaya naiinis ako sa patakaran dito.

Pano ko po malalaman kung sa Main Post office (pasay) or sa Local Post Office ko po icclam yung package? EMS package po siya from Kazakhstan. Sa ebay ko siya binili: USD 155 yung item value and USD 30 yung shipping fee. Maliit lang siya na camera na halos kasing laki ng cellphone. Pano ko po malalaman kung san ipipickup? Thanks.

I’ve tried that before, as much as possible I don’t ship with EMS kasi sa pasay lagi ang bagsak ng item. Regular shipping almost always go to local post office. Well, at least in my case

hi ask ko lang kasi i purchased kpop merchandise from SG. but i didn’t pay for it the my sister did coz shes in SG too. i only paid for the shipping cost. do i have to go to the customs for this one? coz it weighed around 2kl. but my seller said that she posted the package thru the address that i gave her. would it arrive in my house or do i have to pick it up? hello ms. cathy, i received a notice card na subject for customs examination yung parcel. Make ups laman niya since gift niya samen na magpipipinsan from UK. £40 below lang po declared value niya. From novaliches to pasay pa po ako and may baby pa ko 4 months lang. sakin lang siya inaddress kasi ako lang nasa metro manila saming magpipinsan.
wala ako pwedeng gawin representative. may post office po dito samen sa kanto lang namen. dapat po bang kunin ko pa doon sa pasay? kawawa naman po kasi si baby. wala din ako mapag iwanan dahil exclusive breastfeeding siya.

My Philippines-inbound package shows status “Receive in country of destination” on 24 June 2106 at 10.37am…….and after that there is no update on the tracking. Been over 7 days now….nothing.
Other similar packages I’ve tracked usually move to the customs inspection stage on the same day….can’t help fearing the worst.
The package weighs about 300g, it is declared as a GIFT and valued at $20.
Ive called the local post office but they just read me the same status….they don’t know where it is or why it hasn’t moved to customs.
Any suggestions on what to do?

I have an incoming package from china (chinapost) that shows the following tracking status on philpost’s site:
“24JUNE 2016 10.37 AM – RECEIVE IN COUNTRY OF DESTINATION”
There has been no status update since then…..nothing at all.
For all my other packages received in the past, the tracking shows that once a package is received in the Phils, it moves to customs for examination the same day, usually in an hour or two. But i am seeing no movement for 6 days now.
i have received other packages successfully before and the progress is always like this:
1. Receive at country of destination
2. For customs examination
3. Return from customs examination
4. Turnover to next office
5. Enroute to delivery office
The package is a gift and valued at 20USD….i asked at the dasmarinas post office and the lady said to call back after a few days….but im getting a bit nervous since the item hasnt even been sent to customs and its amost a week since it entered the country.
I have read that the PO now has CCTV to ensure nothing gets pinched, But i dont know what to think.
Any ideas what might be happening? I dont speak or understand tagalog, so its not easy for me to communicate as well as i’d like to with postal employees.

They are slow nowadays so don’t worry a lot. Just wait for it for a month. When it’s already one month, then go to the post office and show them your tracking number.

Bakit ang mahal naman ng 112pesos na singil sa delivery? parang kailan lng 50pesos lng yung binabayaran ko sa delivery bakit sobra kalahati agad ang itinaas? Di kaya sa delivery man ang kalahati noon :-)? Buti pa yung 50pesos pa yung binabayaran ko may resibo pa akng natatanggap galing sa post office ngayon wala pa nakapagdududa naman ata. Mga $2 worth ng binili ko tapos ang laki ng charge pareho rin to ng BIR at Custom ang problema dito sa Post Office sana Matignan to ni Mr. President. Gusto ko rin sanang magbenta ng mga secondhand spare part ng mga sira-sirang mga bagay pero na disappoint lang ako dahil yung bagay na ebebenta ko sana secondhand na kung susumahin yung gagastusin ko sa shipping charges pa lang idag-dag mo pa yung presyo ng productong ebebenta mo na secondhand na eh mas mura pa ng di hamak yung chinamade na same model tapos brand new na free shipping pa eh yung sa akin kung sakasakali na ibebenta ko paniguradong makakabili na ako ng 3 bagong same spare parts na bago pa at freeshipping eh yung sakin secondhand na mahal pa dahil sa laki ng shipping charges. Ang point ko is this kung para lang sana sa tao yung post office natin na yan ang pilipinas rin sana ang makikinabang biruin mo ang dami sana nating pwedeng maibenta sa pilipinas na maii-offer natin sa mundo eh kaso hindi competitive yung mga charges diyan sa post office kung mas competetive lang sana anong mangyayari marami ang magbebenta ng kanilang pwedeng maebenta in return papasok ang pera sa pilipinas kagaya ng ginagawa ng mga ofw natin na laging inaasahan ng pilipinas eh baka nga yung mga ofw natin di na mangingibangbayan at magstay na lang dito sa pilipinas dahil mayron na palang magandang mapagkakakitaan dito sa pilipinas na di na kailangan mangibang bayan. Lastly, iwas-iwasan rin natin yung mga tip-tip na yan dahil may mga sweldo naman yang mga yan. Diyan din nasisimula yung pagiging kurap ng isang tao pagdating ng araw manghihingi na yan dahil sinanay ninyo. Magbago na tayo kung gusto nating may magbago sa bansa at matupad yung “Change is Coming” na minimithi ng mga nakakarami.

Pinadalhan kami ng boss ko from Australia ng mga skin care products, kasi online shop sila. I told them na hindi namin binili yung items and those are just gift, pero pinipilit nila akong mag produce ng invoice, ending, hindi ko nakuha yung boxes kasi wala akong ma-produce.. tama ba yun? this happened in Post Office Pasay-Tramo.

It’s June 22 na and more than 1 week na. Dapat na ba akong mag-alala na baka hanggang ngayon nasa customs pa din siya and that I have to pay thousands and thousands of fee para lang ma-claim ‘yung goods? Nakakastress din pala mag group order. Taga Laguna pa naman ako, ine-expect ko na ako pupunta ng main office dahil provincial area ako and derecho na sa post office namin mismo ko nalang kukunin ‘yung goods.

mostly toys po ang inoorder ko online, pde ko po ba sabihin na gift po yun ng kakilala ko from abroad? para di maging taxable? just in worst case scenario pag pick up ko po ung parcel ko sa office nila?
anyway ngagawa ko po un sa ibang online store may website po ako pinag oorderan share ko lng po “Avecko buying service” search niyo po yan tas pde po niyo sabihin sa mga admin dun sa website na EMS post ang shipping preference then ung declared value ng parcel niyo is $40 and mark as gift ung parcel.para di po ma tax.

A friend ordered an album for me in kpoptown and put my address. Sa ngayon po I received an email reply from Philpost na pwede ko siyang i-pick up sa Post Office pero kung pwede ko naman siyang antayin na i-deliver mismo sa bahay, mas okay sana. ^^ Based sa email rin nila ang bill ko daw ay 172, sa tingin niyo po ba yun rin ang babayaran ko kung idedeliver nila mismo sa address ko yung item?

If nagsend mo sa notice card sa inyo, it means you have to pick it up sa office nila. Maybe taxable kasi un items nyo kaya dapat sa customs sya pickupin. Or dahil nagmiss delivery ng three times. Either way, if may notice card na, wala kayo choice kundi ipick up sa post office un parcel.

Hi Ms. Cathy! Ask ku lang, may friend ako from the US at nagorder siya sa CDJapan ng item for me as a gift. Yung item ay pillowcase pero ang price nya ay around $122 and EMS ang shipping at marked as gift. Now sabi ng friend ko chineck nya yung tracking number at nasa Philippines na pero sabi “In Customs.” Ngayon pareho kami nag woworry kasi baka maningil ng malaking tax? Sa tingin mo (based from your experiences) maniningil ba sila ng malaking tax just for a punda ng unan? lol :’)

It depends po if ang nakalagay sa box is the real price na $122. (Which is sobrang mahal naman para sa punda ng unan -.-) Pero if not, mostly hindi naman po sya taxable.

Is this normal? Kasi I have received items from Japan and other countries and nag-ok naman po. Dati kinukuha ko sa PhilPost dito sa may amin but since a few years ago, door-to-door delivery na sila with charge na 100 php something. Dapat sana po may padala sakin na notice or something, but wala. I’ll try to ask PhilPost din about the tracking number, if ever. Galing China po ung item. Any advice?

Yup that’s normal. If more than a 3 weeks na sya or 1 month na, try to go to the post office. Minsan mabagal talaga sila kumilos kaya nadedelay un padala ng notice card.

Hi. Ask ko lang po kung need ko na puntahan sa Pasig Post Office yung pinadala ng hipag ko? Sabi po kasi sa US 6-10 days, pero its been 3 weeks na po wala pa din dumadating na notif letter from Pasig Post Office. Hindi na din po matrack sa USPS ng hipag ko 3 days after nya iprocess na US. Thanks.

Our local kartero is nice enough, he actually drops off all of our packages here at home. He has a notebook, lets you sign and you pay the 112 pesos. No receipt though. Most of the time, I give the guy 150 or 200 pesos and let him keep the change as he saves me a lot of traffic and parking woes.

If more than 3 weeks na yan girl or a month na, puntahan mo na sa post office. Un akin kasi ganyan din nangyari. Mabagal ang Philpost nowadays eh. Naiimbak tuloy mga packages sa kanila kasi hindi agad sila makapagdeliver ng mga notice cards.

If the receiver of this mail is residing in Metro Manila,he is advised to come and claim for this mail here in our Center. Subject mail is for pick up. The receiver is advised to bring 2 valid ID . Office address is EMS PHLPOST, Central Mail Exchange Center, DomesticRoad, Pasay City. Office hour is 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.If the receiver is residing outside Metro Manila , once subject mail be cleared from Bureau of Customs, it will be forwarded to receiver’s local post office for final disposition.Thank you. Depends po sa item na matatanggap nyo un tax na pipapataw. If electronics yan, shoes or bags, may tax po yan. And if big boxes po may tax din. Better go to the post office po para malaman nyo if may tax ba or wala.

It depends po sa item na binili mo. If electronics yan, may tax po yan. I don’t know if Aliexpress put the real amount, pero if they do, may tax po yan kasi higer than $50 po eh may tax na. And depende po sa shipping method kung idedeliver ba sya sa bahay nyo or sa post office.

Hi Cathy ask ko lng po,i have a bulk order po of hats at mga 70 lbs lng ang weight and it just arrived today papunta na sa customs, i know it will take atleast 2,3 weeks to a month bago nla ipunta ng post office. 30 to 45 days naman po bago isoli sa sender un package. If after 45 days wala pa din, kulitin mo na un post office 🙂

Fixed po na Php112 per parcel po. If you buy the item 10x na magkakasama, then isang fee lang. Pero pagdumating po sya ng magkakahiwalay, kada isa pong parcel is Php112.

Anyway, ask ko lng po. Umorder kasi ako sa aliexpress. Total of 27 orders, more than 30 pcs/items lahat. Almost all are car accessories. Isang order lng ata ung more than 50 usd, nasa 52 usd sya, pero 3 items un. So bale, lahat ng items na inorder ko is less than 50 usd. Ang question ko now eh, un bng 50 usd pataas n may tax is ung parcel price mismo at hindi ung per item price? If it is, do you think it is better to order separately para less than 50 usd ung parcel?
Isa pa, almost same time and day ko inorder un lahat so i would assume na almost same time darating lahat un. Perhaps one or max two weeks difference lng ng arrival nilang lahat. Or maybe more? Eventhough almost same time/day cla lahat na order at aliexpress lahat at lahat ng items eh from China?

Hi again. I had already received three of my orders (24 more, lol. ).
The delivery guy from philpost had delivered it directly to my address, all at the same time.
I had paid 112 php per parcel, so, 336 php in all (plus a little bit something for the delivery guy).
My question is, tama ba na bayaran ko handling fee per parcel? Or dapat isang handling fee lng dahil sabay sabay dumating at one time delivery lng nmn?
One more thing is hindi ako na issuehan ng resibo dun sa binayaran kong handling fee which I did’nt really mind so much since nasa akin na ung item. Or should I insist for a receipt? What could be the consequence kung wala akong resibo? Could they declare na hindi ko binayaran un eventhough nasa akin na ung item? Posible ba na irelease nila sakin ung item at to follow n lng ung handling fee? Bka kasi ganun ang i declare then singilin ako later on. Please reply and thanks in advance.

Each parcel po is may handling fee na Php112. Kahit sabay sabay pa po yan dumating pero magkakahiwalay naman na box, eh isa isa po ang bayad nyan. Parang candy po kasi yan, pag each ang binili mo, each din ang bayad. Pero pag isang bag na candy ang binili mo, isang bayad lang din.
And always ask po for the resibo kasi karapatan nyo yun.
If nasayo na un item, wala na pong chance para singilin ulit nila kayo or kunin nila ulit ang item nyo.

Hi Ms. Cathy, your blog is really helpful. and scary at the same time. lol i’m really worried coz my friend in korea sent me a package as a gift and she indicated in “customs declaration” part that there was a bag and snacks inside. and the value was around $240 in total.. i’ve been getting gifts from her for several times already and it’s a first for my package to be held in customs for inspection. based on what i read in several blogs and comments here i think the reason was the “bag” she declared.. i asked the sender about the bag and she said it isn’t expensive. it is actually a local bag in korea. now i’m worried about the tax and customs charge that BoC will charge.. the previous packages i received wasn’t held in customs and was delivered in my door step with a payment of only 150php. now with 1bag included in this last package, do you think i will be charge (customs computation charge) only for the bag price or for the whole package? i will really appreciate your response. thanks! 🙂

I’m not so sure but I think they will. If the bag is not expensive, then try to get the receipt of that bag. The tax will depend on the price of the item. The higher the price, the higher the tax. If you can’t prove that the bag is cheap, the they will give a higher tax.

thanks for your response ms. cathy. unfortunately, for some reason, they charged me 2000php++ i asked them how they got the price and computation but they only said, IT’S GOVERNMENT TAX.they even gave me a paper which explains WHY they are charging such charges however, nowhere in that page tells what are the taxable items and whatnot. it was indeed a terrible day for me. though your blog really helps with going through the process.. thanks again.

Get mo po un resibo from your friend. Para matrack po kung nasaan un parcel nyo. As long na may resibo na pinadala nya, then may chance na makuha or bumalik sa kanya un package.

Singapore Post ang ginamit na shipping method (Free). 55 days na, wala pa rin balita. Nagextend ako ng protection order. Then dumating yung notice from post office 2/25/16. I claimed it the next day. Bayad ko 112 {100 + 12 (vat) }. 70 days ang hinintay ko, Ang tagal. The following is my experience from buying a gaming mouse at Ali Express last Jan 30. Cost is $3.15. Free Shipping method._China Post Small Packet Plus, Can track order when item is still in China but after that can’t track anymore. How surprise am I when I got a notice from post office about my parcel_ It only took 23 days (1-30 to 2-22). As usual, has to pay 112 pesos handling fee. The postal employee asked me how much i bought the mouse. I honestly replied. She didn’t asked anything else, gave it to another postal employee, pay the service fee and I’m free to go. I just made a comment to the postal employee, Sabi ko, para akong nagbayad ng 80% tax sa binili ko dahil cost ng mouse ko in peso is around 150 pesos only. Sagot niya, ganoon talaga; kahit $1.00 lang ang value ng package mo, you have to pay 112 pesos. sabi rin niya, only parcel shipped by EMS are delivered door to door. Kahit registered air mail ang parcel mo, you have to claim it at the post office,,Ang lupit!!

I just received a notice from Philpost that my 3rd order from AliExpress has arrived. It took just a little more than a month. Item cost only $5.52 but the declared value is $3.00. Nagtataka lang kasi ako, The seller said that my order will be sent by airmail. It’s is just a small parcel at indicated sa parcel ay “by Air mail” par avion. Bakit di rin siya mai-door to door? When I asked the post office. only registered Air Mail letters or documents lang yata ang pwede mag door to door. But for parcels, kukunin mo talaga sa Post Office and pay handling fee. Kaya sa mga bibili ng items online, be sure to add the handling cost at transportation fee to the total value of your item para di ka malugi. And make sure that the purchase item ay di mabibili sa Pilipinas or di kaya’y double or triple ang halaga niyan dito. That’s it……

Just don’t show them the invoice. There are certain products that are not taxable if there are not more than $50 dollars. Like books and clothes. But anything which are electronics, bags, shoes, accessories and etc. are all taxable.

Your purchase from aboard will be delivered to your doorstep provided it is only a small parcel, non electronic and has a value of less than $50. It will be shipped by China Post Registered parcel. It weighs a mere 100 grams or so. Will they be delivered to my doorstep? I have ask the seller if they can send it to my mailbox and they said they can help but I’m still worried. Last January, i also purchased a computer mouse. It only cost $3.15 but I know for sure that they will be sent to the post office for pickup. Do you know how I can purchase small items from online shops without having to pickup at the post office? Considering they are inexpensive and small? Thanks

Ummm it depends on the shipping method. EMS can deliver it to your home. But it is pricey 🙂

hi Cathy I have a parcel worth not more than 2000php however I received a notice that I have a tax amounting to 1757 how do I complain regarding those matters?I experienced this before and I just abandoned my items because tax where higher than the value of the items.

You can’t do anything about it po. It is either you just abandon the parcel or pay the tax. Because there are certain products that are not taxable if there are not more than $50 dollars. Like books and clothes. But anything which are electronics, bags, shoes, accessories and etc. are all taxable.

Meron akong binili sa aliexpress and free shipping sa via China Post Register Airmail. $42.00 ung amount tapos sabi nung seller sakin is $10 daw ung nilagay nyang declared value.

Gano po kaya katagal before ko matanggap ung binili ko? and magkano po kaya ung tax na babayadan ko if $10 ung declared value na sinabi nung seller?

Mga 1 to 2 weeks pa yan before mo makuha 🙂 And then if hindi naman electronics un item mo and lower than $50 sya, then wala syang tax. You just have to pay the handling fee.

I would just like to ask also regarding the package I ordered from china. I ordered a proximity approach suit that weighs almost 3kgs. It cost me 55USD and the shipping through EMS cost 65USD. When I tracked it, it arrived feb. 05 and the status is “transit”. What does “transit mean? How long will I have to wait for it If Im from Baguio? I hope it wont take months,.

Hello po!!! I bought 5 kpop albums online last January. At sabi po ng seller na inindicate nya daw that the albums are gifts worth $45. There aren’t update about it yet from korean track & trace because of the lunar new year. May possibility po ba na maharang at mastuck po sya sa customs? Kung mastuck man po sya doon, ano po ang dapat kong gawin? Nangangamba po kasi ako na baka di ko makuha directly sa customs pag nangyari yun eh.

Don’t worry po~ hindi po nahaharang ng customs un small parcel. Most parcels takes 3 weeks to 1 month bado nyo po mareceive. Just keep tracking nalang po ng item nyo 🙂

Hi Cathy! Need help. I ordered a couple of items from Ebay pero iba-iba yung seller, mga baking utensils lang. Yung cost per each item is less than $5 dollars lang, around 7 items lahat. Do I need to pay 100 pesos each time darating sila? Pwede ba onetime payment pag sinabay kong kunin lahat? 😥

Yes po~ You have to pay the handling fee for each item. And Php112 na po ata ngaun ang handling fee. And hindi po sila sabay sabay na darating so, you have to pick each one.

Good day! ask ko lang sana… Jan. 18 dumating dito sa Pinas ung order ko, Jan. 20 ‘items for customs examination’ mga gano katagal kaya bago sila magpadala ng letter? perfume and cream yung inorder ko, $81 yung total amount at mukhang yun ung amount na nilagay ng seller. Yung green receipt na may amount pinadala sayo together with the letter? Thanks in advance!

Ummm~ it depends po~ pero mga few days nlng yan. And about sa tax, if it was declared $81, then kailangan nyo pong magbayad. Kasi, all items na more than $50 are taxable.

mas maganda siguro kung ipapakita ko yung receipt diba? kasi sale nung binili ko ung items, kung isesearch nila sa net yun mahal na. Jan. 20 ‘items for customs examination’, Feb. 3 na kaso wala pa ring letter. Tapos kahapon hindi ko na ma track sa philpost yung tracking number: RD111832413SE

Hi po, I’m replying here kasi hindi ko po alam kung saan gagawa ng sariling comment, sorry. XD I just want to ask po if it’s okay to contact PhilPost na, kasi after reading the comments here, I kinda got nervous about my parcel. It’s not big, just a soap and cream from Thailand for 32$ w/SF of 20$. It’s been in the customs since Feb 23, three days ago. Do I wait for a few days more before trying to contact them? 🙂

Yes po~ Just wait for the notice to arrived bago kayo pumunta ng post office. Mostly hindi naman po taxable un items nyo. You just need to pay Php112 for the handling fee.

how much inabot ang tax ng parcel mo? I too have a parcel held for examination by the BOC.

I’m sorry but my parcels are all not taxable because they are not more than $50 and they are considered stationary.
